K2 Configuration

Equipment Required

Laptop Computer W/Serial port and Altus Quicktalk Installed

This section discusses the Configuration of the Altus K2 Recorder in the Strong Motion Network.

<This is the main window when Quicktalk is opened.

<Select the Recorder pull down menu and Acquisition Control from that menu.

Select Stop Acquisition.>

Select Edit Parameters.>

<Edit Parameters Window

<Click From Recorder

Select Station

Station Parameters Window>

Station ID: Three digit station code>

De-select Channel 4>

Click OK (returns to edit parameter window)>

Select Streams at edit parameter window

<Stream Parameters Window

<Pre-event Storage Time: 15

<Post Event Storage Time: 30

<Sample Rate: 100

<Click Ok (returns to edit parameter window)

Select Serial Data at edit parameter window

Serial Data Streams Transmission Window>

Deselect Channel 4>

Transmit Sample Rate: 100 S.P.S.>

Click OK (returns to edit parameter window)>

Select Channels at edit parameter window

<Channel 1-

<Alarm Trigger .25

<Threshold Trigger .25

<Threshold De-trigger .25

Click Next

<Channel 2-

<Alarm Trigger .25

<Threshold Trigger .25

<Threshold De-trigger .25

Click Next

Channel 3-

<Alarm Trigger .5

<Threshold Trigger .5

<Threshold De-trigger .2

Click OK

At Edit Parameters Window

<Click To Recorder

<Click Close

Click Start Acquisition>

Click Close>
