What can happen when moderate to strong earthquakes (magnitudes 5.0-7.5) occur in the Intermountain West (Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana)? A new traveling exhibit tells our earthquake story using photos and examples from accounts of earthquakes that have occurred in our area within the last 80 years. But... it's not just interesting history! Visiting the exhibit is a good first step in preparing for the next earthquake. You will learn what an earthquake is, why we have them, what they can do, and what you can do about it. Earthquakes in the Intermountain West is a traveling photographic exhibit that is available for display free of charge to schools, public institutions, and groups interested in earthquake preparedness. |
