University of Utah Seismograph Stations

The University of Utah Seismograph Stations reports that a series of
three minor earthquakes of magnitudes 2.0, 3.1 and 3.5 occurred today,
February 7, 2013 (MST), beginning at 12:29 PM (MST).
The epicenters of the shocks were located 9 mi NNW of Cedar City, UT.
The M3.1 and M3.5 earthquakes, separated by 30 min, were reported felt
in Cedar City, UT.
An M2.7 earthquake occurred yesterday, February 6, 2013, in the same
general area.
A total of 26 earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater have
occurred within 16 mi of the epicenter of this event since 1962. The
largest of these events was a magnitude 4.2 on June 28, 1992,
7.5 mi WNW of Cedar City, UT.

The University of Utah Seismograph Stations reports that a light earthquake of magnitude 3.9 occurred at 09:46 PM on January 23, 2013 (MST). The epicenter of the shock was located on the southwestern rim of the Paradox Valley in western Colorado, near the western end of the valley, 15 miles east of the town of LaSal, Utah, and 35 miles east-southeast of Moab, Utah. The earthquake was reported felt in Grand Junction, Colorado, Monticello, Utah, and other towns in western Colorado. This same area experienced an M 4.4 earthquake in 2000 and an M 4.1 earthquake in 2004, both located 6 to 7 miles from today's shock.
